physical, neglect, sexual, and psychological
physical abuse: beating, slapping, hitting, kicking, burning, shaking, and otherwise causing physical harm to a child.
Neglect: harm to raise for a child’s basic physical, educational, or psychological needs. Neglect includes child abandonment, inadequate supervision, failing to run proper nutrition or timely medical attention, failing to enroll a child in school, allowing truancy, failing to provide adequate affection, exposing a child to spousal conflict, and permitting drug or alcohol abuse.
Sexual abuse: fondling a child’s genitals or breasts commiiting intercourse or other sexual acts with a child, exposing them to indecent acts, or involving the child in – or showing the child – pornography
Psychological abuse: includes communicatory put downs and other behavior that terrorizes, threatens, rejects, or isolates children or restoration their self esteem, though processing or ability to deal social interactions. This is also referred to as emotional abuse.
*Psychological abuse is present with every case of abuse.
Signs of each type of abuse in children:
Physical Abuse:
• Clear signs: cuts, bruises, cigg burns, etc.
