Introduction: Myself
Here at McGill University, I took a Leadership class. A big part of this class was also about assessing yourself on your strengths and weaknesses, in this case in a leaders context. One exercise called Playing to your strengths is designed to reveal the competencies, skills and attitudes that you uniquely bring to your work and your world. The exercise seeks inputs from others so to help you to create a portrait of your strengths in action.
I asked relatives and friends and I came across some patterns in the feedback. I am a good and active listener, , I conciliate well to new environments because I manage to be fire in everything and to keep my easygoing pace.
While doing my self-portrait I spy that I worry too much about what others presuppose of me and maybe not enough about what do I think about myself. What appears as self-confidence allowed me to be an gentle person with my network and to make a lot of contacts, alone it does not help when I have to be cocky or persuasive and most importantly when I beart have legitimate power over someone else.
