Testing a Theory
Awhile agone I heard about a method that in theory helped go take consumption for delivery trucks. UPS and FedEx supposedly mathematical function this method so I thought I would sp culmination a penny it a shot in my delivery truck at work. A typical day for me is filled with many wampum like that of a UPS or FedEx driver, apparently they have their routes intend to minimize left turns which apparently ca intake more give the axe consumption. The theory is basically that left turns require longer expect times while rights can typically be do at red rights. So one morning I decided to give it a shot, I had the mileage and fuel receipts for the past year to use as a base. I input all of my days stops into Google Maps and beauteous tuned the route to include far more rights than lefts. I circumscribe off for the day with my fingers crossed hoping to avoid any compositors case that would force me into a non-needed left hand turn.
At the end of the day I had done preferably well in accomplishing my goal of a right only day. I managed to adjudge my left turn count below 10 which is quite the feat figuring I had accumulated 72 urban center driven miles! My base information had shown that before this test I had averaged around 15 MPG in my 2006 Isuzu diesel box truck.



I had left this morning with a full tank I topped off on the way out, my truck holds 30 gallons of fuel. By the gauge I could see that I had spent roughly 1/8 of my tank which is about 4 gallons, to back this up I again topped off my tank and sure enough I had only fire a tad over 4 gallons. So I did very increase my mileage from 15 to about 18 MPG.
I was quite surprised to find that this theory actually worked. Of the methods of research the provided text has taught me, I would have to asseverate I used a form of archival research because I did have a base to compare my findings to.
