The flutter cycle shows the major factors affecting swing and rolls below and above the surface. It comprises of three stages -creation, adaptation and destruction,
Rocks are constantly being eroded and weathered. Wind, water, ice and animals whole wear rock muckle. The eroded rock fragments move down to the bottom of mountains and rivers causing them to layer. This is where sedimentary rock is form.
The settled rock fragments form thick layers that compact together .Large amounts of force and coerce force the rocks downwards into the priming where there is intense heat. This is where metamorphic rock forms.
The intense heat and pressure cause the rocks to falsify unto a liquid called magma. As magma is less dense it rises to the earths surface where it cools and hardens.
The magma cools back completely back into rock. This is where impassioned rock is formed.
Formation of igneous rock
Igneous rock originates from under the earths crust, it was formed when molten rock cools and hardens. There are two types of igneous rock intrusive (intrusive) and volcanic (extrusive)
Plutonic or volcanic are formed below the earth surface.an example would be Granite.
Granite rock is unremarkably a pink to dark grey in contort. The colour normally depends in the mineral content.Hight levels of feldspar will make water it the pink colour. The minerals in granite are feldspar, quaritz and micra.
Granite forms slowly allowing crystals to form. It is formed when it was intruded into exiting rock of the earths crust. This occurs between 2-50km underneath continental crust. Granite has a course to medium texture and it is a tough rock. Granite is a lot used in construction for gravestones and monuments. An Irish example of the igneous rock granite is in the Mourne Mountains and the Wicklow mountains.
How 2 intrusive features are created.
