The jail also used to post inmates awaiting transfer to state or federal prisons and it also detains adolescent temporarily pending transfer to juvenile authorities. The jail is also used to field of operations the ones that croup non post bail immediately afterwards their arrest. The system that is used in my area does not part with a person to be held in the county jail no longer than one socio-economic class, if sentence beyond a year the person is sentenced to a prison facility to complete sentence. I strongly feel the system in my area is not effective due to the lack of funds that is needed to house recently convicted offenders who are released from prison, but may have a misdemeanor or a prior charge pending.

The county jail does not have the funds to transport these offenders so they are released back into society to commit more crimes or impinge on the lives of our police officers. This is the case of a recent situation that happened in my area, I feel the current system is not effective.
