Emily Dickinson Not knowing a lot about American Poetry, Emily Elizabeth Dickinson (December 10, 1830 May 15, 1886) seemed interesting to me being that she was an American poet. I bump her interesting due to having a liking of poetry as a teenager. Emily was a quiet person and lived mostly in her own world. She was not shy but she enjoyed being totally and thinking about her poetry. Emily lived a mostly inward and hole-and-corner(a) life. Emilys father also served in potent positions on the General Court of Massachusetts, the Massachusetts State Senate, and the linked States House of Representatives. Unlike her father, Emily did not enjoy the popularity and excitement of in the public eye(predicate) life in Amherst, and she began to withdraw.

She had a demure musical mode that was almost fun with her close friends, but Emily could be shy, silent, or even depreciating in the presence of strangers. Although she was successful at college, Emily returned after only one year at the seminary in 1848 to Amherst where she began her life of seclusion.
